Effective
This policy covers three groups: brands who contact or hire us, the spokespeople we prepare for interviews, and the journalists we pitch. It explains what we collect about each, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Techno Hiker Pvt Ltd, an Indian private limited company, operates BrandAfterdark and controls the information described here. Questions about this policy can go to hello@brandafterdark.online or through our story pitch form.
Brands and spokespeople
- What you send in a story pitch: your name, work email, brand website, brand type and message.
- For clients: contracts, billing, approvals, briefing notes and the reports we prepare.
- For spokespeople: the name and title you use in public, and the topics you agree to discuss. If you use a professional name, we record your legal name only where a contract requires it, and never share it with the press.
Journalists
To pitch well, we keep a record of reporters we contact: name, outlet, beat, published work, public contact details, and our correspondence. We collect this from public sources and from the journalists themselves. We use it only to decide whether a story fits and to avoid sending irrelevant pitches. Any journalist can ask us to stop contacting them or to delete their record, and we will.
How we use information
To answer enquiries, plan and run campaigns, prepare spokespeople, report results, meet legal and tax duties, and protect this website from abuse. Personal information is never sold, and never passed to anyone for targeted advertising across other sites.
Cookies
Only one cookie is used: a temporary session cookie that lets the pitch form reject forged submissions. Nothing on this site tracks visitors, measures traffic or serves advertising.
Sharing
With journalists, only the information a client has approved for a pitch; with our hosting and email providers; and with authorities where the law requires. We never name a client publicly without written permission.
Where it is handled
BrandAfterdark is run from India and uses providers based in other countries, so your information may be stored or handled outside the United States.
How long we keep it
- Story pitches that do not become engagements: deleted within a year.
- Client files and contracts: for as long as contract and tax law require.
- Journalist records: while they remain useful for pitching, and deleted on request.
Your choices and California rights
Anyone can ask for a copy of what we hold on them, a correction, a deletion, or an end to a particular use. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, along with the right to restrict how sensitive information is used and protection from being penalized for asking. Residents of several other states have comparable rights. Send requests by email or the pitch form; we check identity first, then respond within the legal deadline.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will carry a new effective date at the top. How we work with clients is set out in our terms of service, and our packages on the pricing page.
